Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake "Pops" - Cakeberries

These Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake "Pops" by Dollhouse Bake Shoppe are nothing short of adorable! Cake pops are all the rage and these are such a creative variation....even the name is clever....Cakeberries!

Here is the recipe for "Cakeberries" from Dollhouse Bake Shoppe

* Red Velvet Cupcake/Cake Kit (cake mix or available at the Dollhouse Shoppe) (plus ingredients listed)
* Wax paper covered baking sheet
* Toothpicks
* Cotton Balls
* Green food coloring
* Red candy melts (or white chocolate chips colored with red candy color)
* Dark, Milk or White chocolate chips or candy melts
* Green candy (laffy taffy, air heads, gum drops, etc.)
* Toppings: chopped nuts, chocolate drizzle, sprinkles (optional)

Using the Dollhouse Bake Shoppe “Red Velvet Cupcake/Cake Kit” or your favorite recipe (you can even try strawberry flavored cake), bake an 8″ cake and prepare frosting as directed. Once cake has completely baked and cooled, crumble it up and mix with frosting until it is almost a dough consistency. (You can use a fork or electric mixer, but I like to just use my hands. Kids LOVE this part and squishing it between their fingers to fully incorporate.)

Roll mixture into balls and mold into a cone shape, with the point of the strawberry facing up and the part where the stem will go against your work surface (Making a little volcano). Then you can flip it over on its side and round out the edges on top a little, to make your strwberry shape. Mine were about the size of an average strawberry. Place on wax paper covered plate or cookie sheet, and chill in the fridge or freezer until stiff, but not frozen solid.

Dye regular toothpicks green by rubbing a cotton ball dipped in green food coloring, all over the toothpick. Let dry completely.

Once cakeberries are firm remove from fridge/freezer. Holding the pointed tip of the cakeberry, dip top half (about 1/3 of the cakeberry) into melted red candy melts and stick green toothpick in the top for the “stem” while red candy is still wet. Lay on wax paper to dry.

Once red candy has dried, use the green toothpick “stem” as a handle to dip the bottom half of the strawberry into melted dark or white chocolate chips or candy melts. Lay on wax paper to dry.

With a flower shaped cookie cutter (daisy cutter) or scissors, cut out leaves from green candy (laffy taffy, air heads, gum drops, etc.) Push leaves through “stem”, attaching to top of strawberry with a dot of melted chocolate. Drizzle with chocolate once dry, or roll in chopped nuts or sprinkles while chocolate is still wet. You can use any color combination or toppings you desire.

Skateboard Party

This party happens to have been for my son. He just turned 4 and is a "skater dude" at heart. I let him choose the theme and he was SURE this was what he wanted! Needless to say, skateboard themed party items are tough to come by. I did a low key party with some simple printable decorations and LOTS of tech deck finger skateboards!

The invitations and printable party accessories are available HERE. Almost all of our products are available as printables or professionally printed. Of course, feel free to email EMAIL us with any questions or customization needs!

Little tags like the ones above make just about anything look cute!

Layered jello cups are my new favorite party snack because you can literally make them to match ANY color scheme.....and they are yummy!  Plus, I'm a fan of anything you can be accessorized with a cute topper!

Oh, Lynlee's Petite Cakes, you are amazing!
I made the cupcakes and frosting....threw Lynlee's fabulous fondant decorations on top and voila!

Mixin' it up a little bit with some printable toppers as well....

For favors, I did a cute labeled bag with a Tech Deck inside, some skateboard tattoos (my son has panicked at bath time since his party that his COOL tattoos are going to come off!), and some color coordinated candy.  I also used a mold to make chocolate skateboard pops.

Simple outdoor table centerpieces....I tied some balloons to the galvanized buckets and they were just right!

Okay, so I couldn't resist this photo board.....I took pictures of all of the guests doing these fancy skateboard tricks.  The kids thought it was pretty fun and the adults found it quite entertaining!

And the WINNER IS.....

Entry #105....Angee C.!!!  Thank you to all who entered!  Angee, we look forward to helping you plan a fabulous party!  Winner was selected by random.org.

Stay tuned, party people....lots of fun posts coming up soon!
