Bowling 40th Birthday!

This post is long overdue, but in the midst of holiday chaos, I've decided to MAKE the time to share it!  This was a very special 40th bowling birthday that was not only cute, but FUN!  The birthday girl really wanted a venue where she could have her kids enjoy the celebration, but also make it an adult event.  Sooo, we decided to do a bowling party....kids were invited for the first 2 hours.....and then the rest of the night was adults only.  Worked out great!!  Since it was a later evening party, we did appetizers and desserts......my two favorite food groups!  Please forgive the lighting in these photos....bowling alley lighting is NOT easy to work with!!

How cute are these bowling ball cake pops?!!  Thanks, Kelly for making them just perfect.  Turns out that a bowling ball is a really easy theme......you can turn anything in a round shape into a bowling ball with just 3 little dots!  We used the idea on the sugar cookies too!

Lynlee's Petite Cakes did it again.....little masterpieces of fondant!!
My favorite were the bowling pins and balls....her attention to detail is amazing!

You know how I love to coordinate.....and I just LOVE that Sweet'n Treats can customize edible toppers to mach any of my themes.  I've used them on cupcakes and they are great....this time, I used them to top royal icing on sugar cookies and they turned out adorable.

Photo Booth......one of my new favorite things!  It was especially fun with the kids, but putting all of the photos together after the party made such a nice keepsake for the birthday girl.  We used small chalkboards for people to write special notes.

We pulled the dessert table decorations together with some printables from our shop!
BTW, we haven't added the bowling design to the site yet, but just put "bowling" as the party and we'll send you whatever you need!
The birthday girl's mom sent these all the way from Texas.....poms to cute-ify the bowling shoes :)

Decorating in a bowling alley is a bit limited....but we used these printables on handle bags to hold a bouquet of balloons....it worked as a simple centerpiece.

Vintage Comic Superhero Birthday Party

What little boy wouldn't LOVE a Superhero birthday party?!  Having a son, I've learned to appreciate the fun that goes along with capes, masks, and special superhero powers!  I will thrilled to be able to help with this celebration for Super M as he turned 4.  We went with a vintage comic book style superhero theme and basic red, aqua and yellow colors.  We used a bunch of printable party accessories from our shop to tie it all together!

You can find these invitations as printables or professionally printed in our shop.

These cookies by Sugar Mama Cookies were amazing....
and definitely added the WOW factor at the dessert table!

We mixed these edible printed cupcake decorations by SweetNTreats with some printables from our store.
Love the way they both turned out!

These are one of my new favorites.....custom popcorn that comes in SO many colors and flavors!  They were done by Kernel Encore Popcorn and we just added a printable label from our store!

This birthday boy's super mama bagged up PB&J sandwiches....SUCH a good idea so they don't get dried out.  And you know how we LOVE to add labels....

This printable cape and birthday sign made an easy and fun centerpiece!

What superhero party would be complete without a "make your own mask" station?!

Favors were stainless water bottles with a cute printable tag + these fabulous masks.  The quality was great and The Red Knot even did custom colors to match our theme!

Tiffany Blue Bridal Shower from Paperbox Press Parties!

This bridal shower was for my beautiful cousin....my sister and I had the pleasure of hosting a small shower for her and we went with a Tiffany blue and silver color scheme.  We had such fun planning it and it was a great day......my parties tend to be for larger crowds and what a treat to be able to do one for a small, intimate group!   We wanted a simple and elegant look, which came together nicely.
Pleasanton Rentals helped us put together a beautiful dining table with all of the trimmings...oh, how I love it when everything coordinates!  And the folks there really helped pull our vision together.

One of my favorite things about the whole shower was the monogram decoration at the favor table.  I love monograms and we used it as a running theme with the shower.....Say It With Letters did a fabulous job on the monogram and it was a nice gift to send home with the bride-to-be!  I think it would be a great addition to any bridal shower or wedding event!

Whip It Good did an amazing job matching the monogram on the cookies to the rest of the decorations at the shower.  Erin is truly amazing....how you can get frosting to look that perfect is a mystery to me!  And of course, they were delicious as ever!

I was itching to do another small favor, so I found some sixlets candies in just the right color shade....added a customized printable and voila....cute and yummy!

We did a dessert buffet and dressed it up with some of our favorite globe balloons from Ziggos!

We accessorized the dessert buffet with some cute printables from our store.

And a big thank you to Krystle Stetson for photographing the special day!

Outdoor "Drive In" Movie Party!

I have hosted a LOT of parties and I have to say, this is one of my all-time favorites to date! We had an outdoor "drive in" movie party and it was SO much fun! It was really simple to put together.....since the party didn't start until dark, I just did popcorn and a candy bar and decorated with some cute retro drive-in printables....but the sky is the limit with this theme....you could go crazy if you wanted to! The best part was looking out into my yard and seeing all of the parents and kids, snuggled up together in their blankets....watching the movie with big eyes and smiles! I have seen pictures of these parties but seeing the huge screen in real life was great! I am just in LOVE with the whole theme....something new and great for all ages!  I think next time I'll do a Grease sing-a-long....or maybe a favorite 80's movie for all of the parents!

Fun Flicks was the company who helped bring this party to life....if you're thinking about hosting a movie party, you should go for it!  Fun Flicks is offering a fabulous promo to Paperbox Press readers....for $300, you will get a movie party package that includes complete set-up and take-down of the awesome movie screen, popcorn (from a cute vintage popper!) for 50 people, and no charge for travel within 30 miles of the Tri-Valley area! This is a $200 savings and your friends and family will absolutely love it! Fun Flicks can also do Rock Band or video game parties, and can stream live TV (how many of your husbands would love to host a "fight night" boxing party!).  Here in the Bay Area, you could easily host an outdoor movie party from now through the end of October, or even a winter holiday party! You can contact FunFlicks SF Bay Area by calling Paul at 510-502-5082 or emailing them HERE.  Don't forget to check out their website and "like" them on Facebook!  And tell them that Paperbox Press sent you!  This offer is good for parties Sunday through Thursday and can be used through December 2011.
BONUS: The first person who books with Fun Flicks will receive a FREE party printable package from Paperbox Press that includes invitations, popcorn bag templates, drink labels, candy labels, movie night banner, and it's all customized for you!

Some brought camping chairs, others brought sleeping bags.....and EVERYONE had a great time!

This is the blow up screen in our backyard....there wasn't a bad seat in the house!
